The energy density of these new fuel cells is projected to be 3-5 times that of conventional rechargeable batteries. At the same time, they will be significantly lighter in weight.

If they're lighter than the batteries they will compete with, that works against them sizewize. If they're 4 times the energy density but half the mass density, they'll only get double the life in the same size package (still pretty good, but not as good as expected). To get the expected 4 times lifetime, they'll have to be double the volume of the battery.
