We do not know how many people were murdered at Chelmno because all the evidence is circumstantial and vague.

Oftentimes, there is a established base of "historical" facts and egos involved in the study of an era or events that it takes 100 years or more to flesh out what exactly occurred.

Historians it seems, are as small-minded and territorial as the rest of us.

It does not help that there are those out there who throw up a wall of further inquiry, for those that differ in their findings or interpretations, by calling names and trying to belittle them or censor them.
