HA, I doubt that an appendix is an evolutionary anachronism quite as much as is commonly claimed. Maybe it does a little something which is useful though not critical in most circumstances.

Gold does still have a place too, but I'd say its place is dwindling faster than the need for an appendix. I don't think we'll be going back to cellulose digestion as a dietary staple, or to gold as a monetary staple.
