In his retirement, former Senator Barry Goldwater was sharply critical of the Bush Family. Goldwater calculated that he spent over $1 Million of his own money to be able to engage in public service. Goldwater deeply resented the fact that the Bushies use the government as a means to connive and enrich themselves at public expense.
