The Economist has a long track record of absolutely blitheringly stupid predictions. They seem to never quite get it.

The one I remember from 1994, when I had a subscription, was an editorial opinion that it was "now safe to enter the peso zone", just about one month to the day before Mexico devalued the currency. Oops.

Hope you didn't have to go to a lot of trouble to find an article debunking an Economist prediction. It would make me think you were actually worried.;^)
