DAK, it looks like shrub is doing the little guy a favor again. They won't have to struggle with all these complicated tax avoidance vehicles - life will be so much easier then - we'll just leave that to those with the huge investment and dividend portfolios who work so much harder for a living and deserve all the breaks they are smart enough to get their tax accountants to scheme up for them (with the help of Washington) -- heh heh.

I don't have a lot of interest in either accounting schemes or tax theory, except when they start getting used to the wider detriment of the country. It takes an Enron to make anyone else who's not in the big money game to pay attention. With the government all controlled by one party for now, I see a snow job coming down on the otherwise harried and distracted J6P, and don't hold out much hope for an intelligent resolution.

This is the first of what will be a fast and heavy blitz of legislation to get the elite as much in control of the agenda as they can before the blowback strikes. It will take the public a year or two to figure out what's hit them.

My reading of several boards last night surprised me, in that many posters who I think to be pretty conservative were blasting this plan. I expected more support. My personal opinion is that shrub puts up his extreme case, when he really wants half, and then calls himself conciliatory. Will this charade not end until the implosion ?
