Ted Re..I don't disagree that Saddam is bad but then there are a number of bad leaders in the world, many of whom are not making the news but continue to torment their people. I would like nothing better than to get rid of all of them; however, I don't believe that's possible for a lot of different reasons.

So therefore you say, we shouldn't go after anyone; even the worst of the lot. Why were you in favor of Bombing in Bosnia then.

Therefore, I think the best we can do is make the world safe for Americans and hopefully, that will benefit others as well. I also believe the most serious threat to our well being, assuming the info we have been given is accurate, is al Qaeda, not Saddam.

Old wise one, just how do you intend to do that, and why would you start anything in the middle east until the oil fields are secure. AL Qaeda is in over 40 countries, including Iraq, and you don't dare invade that many countries until the core of the middle east is stabilized. Secondly, with a stabilized Iraq, a lot of the other countries will start to change on their own, to avoid a similar intervention; or at least make their country off limits to Al qaeda.

I wish I could believe they really care but I don't. Maybe I am too cynical.

That is fine if you don't care about the dead in Iraq, but don't accuse me of just using the dead to suit my purposes. You don't know me that well.
