When I see the next statement like that, I might throw up.

Your problem is that you insist on thinking in terms of the customer, or of the carrier. Try thinking in terms of the infrastructure and handset suppliers.

WCDMA is the natural evolution to GSM in the sense that the natural order of things, with NOK, ERICY, Siemens & Alcatel owning the market, is maintained. Their oligopoly market will grow even larger because of their great shared technical prowess, unmatched by would be competitors like those uppity Americans from San Diego and the Asian hordes who just don't seem to appreciate the superiority of the Eureopean way.
