I am no financial planner but suggest this asset allocation because Condor is seeking protection of capital before all. If he is, I think holding bonds and stocks is not a good idea for the next 12-24 months. Only GIC's T-Bills and cash are safe. To cover the risks of inflation, war, currency collapse and everything else in the decade ahead, gold complements these assets.

That is not the way to go if you want growth of capital.
Here is you must take some greater risks.

Long term, I feel gold will a very low risk proposition. Gold stocks can be very low risk or very high risk depending on timing.
