I agree that dividend tax cut is not a good idea on balance, but the proposal does seem to be helping the corporate bond market and especially junk bonds. Lowering or ending dividend taxation will shift the financing preference of corporate America away from bonds in favor of preferred stock. The prospect of a lower supply of corporate bonds in the future seems to be reducing risk premiums in that market.
