Refresh my memory, who was the last 2nd baseman to get into the Hall? Joe Morgan?

Mazerowski got in, via the veteran's committee. best defensively at his position ever, plus the home run against the Yankees to win the '60 Series, so he probably deserved it, on the "Fame" angle of the HOF. Sandberg clearly had a superior career, minus that one defining moment. the last 2B via the regular process would have been Joe Morgan. and no, i am not going to begin to argue that Sandberg was superior to Morgan. or you know, it might have been Carew, although he stopped playing 2B and moved to 1B pretty early in his career, so i really wouldn't call him a second baseman. Carew is also probably better. bunch of other guys have gotten in via the Vets committee recently; Bobby Doerr, Nellie Fox, Red Schoendienst, Tony Lazzeri. i'd put Sandberg #5 all-time behind Hornsby, Morgan, Lajoie, and Jackie Robinson. #6 all-time if we count Biggio, who obviously isn't retired yet though his career at 2B looks to be ending w/ the Kent signing. probably more than you wanted to know.
