I don't know what happened or why. However, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that if you put people into unventilated truck containers and leave them there for hours, they will die. "Hundreds of prisoners who surrendered were sealed into cargo containers and suffocated...Of the 200 or so in the container, none had survived. 'They opened the doors and the dead bodies spilled out like fish.'" Then an acre of land was bulldozed and the bodies were dumped there and covered over. Does that remind you of anything?

she does more than assume that this incident was incontrovertibly done by the northern alliance...this is the post where she conflates the alleged incident with our people..

So it's acceptable for Americans to become barbarians. Since when? Since Bush.

Re: the Taliban/al Qaeda/other individuals who died in the storage containers: do you believe that such was incontrovertibly done intentionally

Are you suggesting that they could not have known that people stuffed in airless storage containers will eventually die?

This is like saying Nazis shouldn't be judged for the death of Jews in massive numbers due to lack of clothing, malnutrition, and overworking in hostile conditions. Human beings are fragile animals who tend to die without air, water, or food, in that order of urgency. You will have to explain why you think US soldiers couldn't have known Afghans would die in the unventilated containers they were stuffed into.

To answer your question, I doubt if it was intentional, but it was certainly NEGLIGENT, and possibly, very dumb.
