Thats why nutcases like Barbara Boxer and Davis keep winning. Its not that people like them, its just that the opposition is so extreme in their social views and "out there" wrt what people really think here it is the lesser of two evils. Yeah well... a lesser evil, is still evil -g In other words... It becomes, like wild and crazy stocks, a matter of supply and demand... i.e. how many morons ~vs~ how many reasonable people... Plug in the fact that politicians are like streetwalkers, who will sell their wares to the best bidder REGARDLESS of cost and consequences to the rest of the communities.... In the end, Napoleon was right... we get the government we deserve.... we elect them. The frustrating part is that being the cockroaches that they are, politicians will perpetuate the environment whereby only low class morons and cockroaches are capable of existing in such, making it impossible for high quality individuals like TJ to even consider it... The end result...? We are doomed... the above, combined with population explosion just makes it possible for the "lowest, dumb and dumber common denominator standard” to bloom... Am I a pessimist? Not really, just a realist. I have seen this movie before; amazingly, the script is being performed with Swiss precision. While it is true that the USA has a far more educated population than in LatAm... (in general). However, the apathy is just the same and slowly --but surely-- the morons-in-command aka politicians continue to dispense the medicine to idiotize the masses and accept all kinds of "chicken in every pot" policies, regardless of how idiotic the actual results begin to come down... TJ's views, (very much like Ayn Rand's) are the extreme minority and will never be accepted by the masses, it would take effort and work... the masses prefer to listen to the lull that the politicians provide with their "lullaby for idiots" at every election. As for the current "no tax on dividends" song... long overdue, since clearly dividends were taxed twice, but in the end, irrelevant... it is not sufficient to counter the current softness. This has to do with debt, financial responsibility, demand and overcapacity here and abroad. The "No tax" thing ought to be at the very least in Capital Gains... You want growth? Let Capital grow and put fertilizer, (the appropriate one) on it to make it grow faster... The legal system has a lot to do with the current problems.... it is not so much that companies are required to provide certain health benefits... it is the COST of such benefits... why should medical care has to be SO EXPENSIVE ? yeah we know.... INSURANCE against IDIOTIC and UNREASONABLE claims... Unfortunately, the only fertilizer politicians know about is the one used in farming fields, i.e. bullsh*t -g The other side of the ledger is the spending side... I do not care how much tax or NO-tax policies are implemented... if you do not control the spending side... THERE WILL NEVER BE A BALANCED anything... Now, with this war talk, dance and paint being freely promoted... does that sound like there will be spending restraint? ... I doubt it. A basic requirement for becoming a politician, ought to be to pass an arithmetic test in which they would learn that if you spend more than what you get, you will be in the red, regardless of the amount of fertilizer they sprinkle their own campaign promises... That is an impossibility, it will never happen.
