All of the benefit of eliminating taxes on dividends goes to people who own equity in companies and funds that pay dividends. I suspect about 70% of taxpayers own such stock or mutual funds, from each spectrum of the earning curve.

NO! There's your answer.

The elimination of the double taxation of dividends is, first and foremost, a moral imperative, something we need not discuss, because you lefties no NOTHING about such things.

Economically, it's effect is to raise the ENTIRE market, make capital CHEAPER, and thus create economic growth that would NOT have otherwise occurred. That means that it has the GREATEST effect on the poor and lower-income people-who need jobs and higher incomes-with the benefit for wealthier TAXPAYERS and INVESTORS as a bi-product.

But go ahead and spew your class-hatred. WE understand that it is ALL you lefties have to say. And, meaningless and immoral as it is, it keeps you from being intelligently silent...

Yes it does. The repubs are buying the votes of those most likely to vote for them. Why give money to Dyed in the wool dems? That' why the Dems plan pays off their constituents.

The unemployed are 63% dems.

I made that stat up, but I bet it's true given a center piece of the Dems Econ Plan was a 6 month extension of unemployment benefits.

I say let them try trickle down Reaganonomics once more. Give the repubs and Bush their Rich guy tax cut. We'll see where they are come 2004. If the economy improves then maybe they were right. Or perhaps just lucky. Only time will tell.
