I would appoint Secy Treasury John Mulligan
he works on the golf course
he would work starting all over again with USDollar, Bank system

agreed, I am benevolent here
in early 1990's we saw massive capital migration from Japan to USA
in early 2000 decade we are seeing sizeable capital migration from South America to USA
so far, it is mainly into Florida

I dont for a minute compare the two migrations in size
but we are seeing the early trend in capital escaping the economic implosion devastation from South America
e.g. Venezuela, Columbia, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay
so far

a good friend from my Digital days has several brothers
one works in south Florida with large new residential properties
the influx from SAmerica is utterly massive, he says
but nothing can compare to the $600-800B from Japan in 1990's

perhaps Bushy should recommend more rapid depreciation of business capital equipment
that would aid in the accelerated writeoffs of excess

perhaps Bushy should recommend revolving credit interest and installment credit interest to be deductible

the problems are three-fold, in the main

1. the entire economy is geared toward excessive consumption and assumption steadily of new debt, which yields a nobrainer conclusion that the living standards are higher than reality dictates

2. our entire economy suffers from a nearly terminal case of multi-decade mfg departures, since now only farming remains among the major sources of wealth production (farms, mines, mfg)

3. our entire economy is focused on spending and not saving, whereby interest is deductible but savings are discouraged, leaving our engines directed toward building economies outside our borders, and inviting destruction of our economy internally

you make an excellent point about USA spread too thin
we are too thin within our domestic economy supporting the socialist state
too thin with our consumption import economy supporting numerous foreign exporters
too thin with our military serving as both SENTRY and SWAT teams
too thin with our Trez debt working like acid in foreign central banking systems

I could go on
I expect very little from political minds
the stimulus package is better than many would anticipate
I want much more on a national initiative for fuelcells and natural renewable energy sources to feed them
I want the entire Texas and California coast to join Mexico in producing hydrogen from ocean water via sunlight photoelectricity
instead we spend the same amount of money on MidEast security and offense
(I mean defense)

yes, I am being too gracious, but I expect so little
we dont elect strong thinkers and planners
only goodlooking guys who tend to present well before TV
provided they eschew fellatio opportunities under the podium
