It is a curious choice but I can see each circle as the broadcast area of each laptop. Then the circles overlap to enable communication.

The centrino was discovered just last year by some Japanese researchers looking for neutrinos.

"centrino (n) -- a short-lived particle with no distinguishing characteristics, and no charm."

Sometimes I'm embarrased to be an ex-Intel employee. No doubt one of their several hundred vice presidents coined this silly name.
