Judging from the tax proposal and the re-nomination of Pickering, it looks like the Bush approach to Daschle and the rest of the Dem left for the early session will be: "Do you have the 41 votes to stop us, and, if so, how often are you prepared to use them?". The target is not them, but the dozen or more Dem opportunists who co-exist with the Marxist/Leninist hard core Dem left-and many of whom are up for re-election against the Bush landslide of 2004. Daschle is caught in this Karl Rove vice, and, as usual, he makes a public spectacle of himself on TV because he can't stand the heat. To Bush and Rove I say: KEEP TURNING THE SCREWS! LET'S ROLL!!!...
