Yes, those photos were chilling.

And you are correct, Suma. this thread was begun in the hope that its participants would both offer and gain awareness. That resultant consciousness would spread to others and perhaps help, in some small way, to stop what currently seems a very unnecessary regional war, and one with the potential to widen further.

It seems from today's news that Hans Blix, et. al., intend to remain in Iraq well past the January 27th date that many have marked, that the inspections will continue. As the header of this thread indicates, I don't think Bush will begin bombing Baghdad with either Blix, or the UN inspection teams, still in place. Thus, this thread could go on for a long, long time. Welcome to it, Suma!
