Tom- Thanks for the Forbes article. I don’t know if Forbes is giving good advice when they say->>”If the Bush plan passes, it will make sense for investors to stuff their taxable bonds in their tax-deferred retirement accounts, while holding their stocks and stock funds in taxable accounts.”

One of the primary advantages of the 401ks and IRAs is tax deferred growth. Over 30 or 40 years that can make a LARGE difference in one’s holding stocks vs bonds. My plan was to contribute/ convert some of my traditional IRA to Roths and use the appreciation in the Roth to fund tax free distributions which would be used to pay the taxes (ordinary income) on my traditional IRA withdrawals. Unfortunately, when I first made Roth investments in 1999 and 2000 my Qualcomm was at much higher prices. Hopefully you guys on the board will start to buy again and drive the share price up to where it was and beyond so that I will have some appreciation to withdraw in a couple of years. Looks like a good day to start buying!!!
