Well, I have lived in the State of WA for the past 54 years and have followed politics intensely during that time. The State of WA embraces environmentalists and environmental protection is at the top of our priorities. Bush's policy of opening roads into previously protected wilderness areas is not viewed with favor in the State of Washington.

I was born and raised in the Pacific NW and anyone that wasn't just can't get it through their thick skulls that humans actually NEED wood products,

You ever been out of the Pacific NW? I'm sure you can find many people outside of your community who see the great benefits of wood products to mankind.

Environmental extremists? You mean those tree-huggers who actually feel forests ought to survive in this country? What wimps. Unlike those real men who never saw a stump they dont like, shoot endangered species and believe trees cause forest fires.
