I don't think you are correct. I doubt that the leaders are all socialists, or even mostly socialists. There might be some socialists, but there are probably a lot of democrats, as well (not many Republicans, probably, but I'd bet there are even a few of them). Do you have data on the political affiliations of the leaders of America's environmental associations? Or are you just guessing? I suspect you are guessing. There is no reason why socialism and environmentalism should to be linked. Even capitalists have to breathe and drink and eat.

the leaders of the environmental movement are socialists You are guilty of over generalization. One of the leaders on the environmental movement in the Seattle area is the Bullitt family. They are very wealthy and they are not socialists.

Not to mention they actually think that anyone that cuts down a tree or uses a forest, beach, place of purity is evil.

They seem to be anti-human to me.
