Patty Murray: I hate Bin Lauden but realistically we'd better realize some of what he says (that's not the 50% total lies) really matters to those Arabs on the street. And he's right when he says we're over there for their oil. No secret there. Bin Lauden is half phony evil villain and half sly populist folk hero. I say we get off oil gradually then get the hell out of there. But if we're going to stay there then just demonizing Bin Lauden alone wont work. we have to understand him and debate the Arab people fairly on the subject. Of course Israel is a sticking point but even that we can work on. So why censor discussion of Bin lauden in this country? Ignorance can kill a lot of people if we're not careful.
