bear candles work better in bear trends..... bull candles work better in bull trends.... bear candles not as reliable in bull trends... bull candles not as reliable in bear trends.... once you know the trend.....then you can give each candle its proper reliability for the trend...... thats what i do anyway...... AV is a bull indicator....DB a bear..... AV is stronger in bull trends....weaker in bear trends.... DB is stronger in bear trends....weaker in bull trends.... upside P&S work in bull trends.....headfakes in bear trends downside P&S work in bear trends....headfakes in bull trends know the trend and the t/a will follow...... when the t/a starts failing....the trend has likely changed or is about too.... thats my guidelines.....you can over analyze everything and anything to death all you want...... but if you don't know the trend.....you don't know anything...you are blind as a bat......
