limtex,

I don't know what the others might say on all of the other threads you have posted on, but if you want a packet sniffer to watch iNteL try to set a cookie when you go to the iNteL IHub message board, then I would recommend Ethereal. Free for home use the last time I checked.
www.ethereal.com

Available for just about any platform. Displays realtime or not, and can save to disk and view later. Also compatible with other saved file formats from other sniffers.

Fun to watch what goes on when you visit an "innocent" website.

Steve

OT Hi Limtex, you could be receiving data from an Internet site, like a sports website where action & scores are continuously updated. Did you find out what it was?

What firewall package are you using? Some firewall software packages have gaping holes and welcome mats at the door.

Yesterday, I had an interesting visitor at a firewall - he even called himself Sniffer. Geez.

For what it's worth... you need to capture to a certain encoded format, in order to be able to use the material in court as evidence for prosecution. Not any type works.

A friend of mine had a high-tech break in at his company some time ago. He handed the data over to the police who in turn handed the case over to the CIA. Turned out the guy who did it was wanted by five countries. Rather impressive how the CIA works closely with other countries to capture an international criminal.

Regards,
Amy J
