Bush promised 12 billion for education, delivers 6 billion.
Bush wants 11 billion to go to big oil for more drilling. Tax-payer supported oil-drilling. Great set of priorities.

Yes we have a budget crisis but look who gets left behind.
Meanwhile state budgets are in major trouble causing steep cutbacks in public school budgets, even in Bush's Texas which ranks 48th in education nationwide despite his claims of being an "education president". If you saw his lame speech the other night on education he chided public schools for "failing" and "threatened" that if they dont succeed kids can transfer to another school or get a tutor. really great way to inspire teachers. No way for Bushies to spin this in any credible way. Education has slipped way down the priority list. Almost as bad as "the environmental president"'s broken promises.
