John: the dips in bear assets to the UT line have tended to mark tops nicely. we are at that line now. of course i see bear in everything. one of these days i hope to cure that.

I don't know that the top line would be very useful, but the bottom seems to be a good medium-term bottom indicator. The idea is from Zeal:
