I guess there were 3 market segments for a while: the mainframe computer, the mini, and the desktop. The mini-computer market was under siege from both the top AND the bottom. "Between a rock and a hard place" .. as the saying goes. So maybe DEC really was taken out by the merging of computer market segments. I agree that CSCO is not in a similar market position. Ron
