"I simply don't believe that only a fixed number of college grads have the brains to study and practice medicine".... How about the stamina: ama-assn.org Or the financial endurance (especially if the prospects are that your hairdresser is getting more for a haircut than the doctor will for the office visit). ..Last I heard all slots for the Surgery residency program were not filled in the last round. There were open spots. . ..and yes there are numerous doctors here on J-1 Visas.
