I'd sign up in a New York minute... but I'm afraid that the entrenched economic interests who benefit from the special preferences inserted into the tax code that give them unfair advantages over those less well-connected politically would fight to their last lobbyist.

PS - the Ruskies have done one other interesting thing. On all of their national elections there is an automatic 'extra' candidate: "none of the above".

High time.

It seems to me that Russian states are a loose federation of states more like the US in the beginning.
