OT -- Will-- Obviously, as an investor collecting dividends, and as a VLT holder of AMAT (over 10 yrs), I know the tension and attention required. However, we buy and sell stocks from each other and that doesn't add to the economy. Only when we spend for goods or services, or buy an IPO does investing contribute to wealth. What you say about supply and demand is indeed correct, but if you remember Eco 101, the marginal propensity spending curves indicate that the lower income people spend a higher % of their incomes than the rich. Given the multiplier effect, we are all better off by putting more money into their pockets. Overriding, to me, is the issue of social priorities. If you want a more equal society, you agree with me. If you want a more stratified society, you agree with Bush. When I was a kid, we were outraged by the inequities of wealth in S. America. Now, they are common in the US. fred
