David, another liberal editorial posing as "news analysis." This is so dumb; no wonder conservatives like Limbaugh and Hannity are gaining wider acceptance.

The Democrats would have acted the exact same way had they possessed the "tiny margin" the GOP has at the moment. And I would expect no less of them, nor would I respect them any more if they held back. This "mandate" nonsense is pure bull and a shameful way to try and weaken Bush's agenda.

I wonder how many presidents have had the political guts & stamina to do this in the past?

Finally, we agree. Not many presidents would have the cajones to renominate someone who has a questionable background in race relations.
