Hi DJ U.S. policy I am listening to Cheney making a speech supporting administration policies, domestic and international. I am a Democrat, fairly liberal but a 40 year fiscal conservative. I am also a proponent of a strong, modern and mobile military to protect our interests. I have been quiet. I wanted to watch what the administration could accomplish. It is becoming apparent that we have an administration that is composed of a bunch of total incompetants. We have a disintegrating domestic economy and we have managed to alienate 80% of the world politically in two short years. We will hear a growing chorus of "the emperor has no clothes" very soon. A sad thing is watching the destruction of Secretary Powell's credibility and future. The Iraq situation will be a political disaster for U.S. no matter what. All N. Korea wants to do is make a deal and we will deal. The U. S. and the non-muslim world are faced with a confrontation with Islam. The "War on Terror" is actually a confrontation with Islamic militant groups, Al Queda being in the spotlight. The Palestine/Israeli dance of death is a focal point of Islamic discontent. Some signs of movement to an Israeli willingness to abide by U.N. resolutions and begin the withdrawal to the 1967 borders would lessen the credibility of the most active Arab/Islamic militant activists. The world had better focus on the problem which is with Islam in total. If there is a solution it will have to come from Islamic sources. Jim
