Hi Nat. As far as I know (or can remember), I'm the creator of the shell game analogy.

As I see it, the Fed (whoever they are and whoever they are controlled by) like to operate behind a veil of secrecy. As part of their smoke and mirrors approach, their entries into the money market are for varying durations.

Some days they enter the Overnight market. Some days the 3 day, some days the 7 day, the 28 day, and so on.

They make it hard to follow by continually operating under a different shell. Just like some huckster working a shell game on some street corner.

Ol' Smirk likes to keep things obtuse and confusing.

At least that's how I see it.
