What a great article! (

Instead of 'Thank you'
Is the US an evil Empire?

January 10, 2003
The Iranian)

I enjoyed reading that. Indeed, the recent
killings
of Americans in Jordan and Yemen revealed them to be there helping the
people
of those nations -- and they got killed for it. The heinous execution
of
American doctors working inside a hospital to save lives exposes the
despicable bankruptcy of Bin Ladenism, yet he remains a hero. Even
now,
there are over 30,000 Americans in Yemen -- over half on humanitarian
missions despite the extreme risk to their own lives.

What has surprised me most since 9/11 is the absolute impotence of
European
leaders. Saddam Hussein violates every tenant of the French
Constitution,
yet they're doing everything they can to protect him from being
deposed. In
North Korea, human rights are never the issue. Bush is bashed for even
calling them what they are -- evil. The rest of the world wants him to
shut
up and appease like they do.
In a world where I thought we had many friends, 9/11 woke me up to see
that
we're very, very alone.
