Woof, these is your usually nauseating bull. Menem has been accused of something; Bush and he are friendly; someone who worked for Bush may be implicated; therefore Bush is corrupt. Not even the story suggests more than an embarrassment for Bush.

As for the Salvation Army, you do not even get the issue right. The question is not corruption, in the implied sense of misappropriation and personal enrichment, but that the White House may have intended to trade exemption from a rule against anti- gay- bias in employment for the Salvation Army's lobby efforts on behalf of faith- based initiatives. Of course, they did not go through with the exemption, and the most that has leaked from the White House has suggested an "implied" quid pro quo. And, by the way, no one has suggested that Bush had a hand in it at all.......
