There aren't many high rise buildings around the NOVA area, mostly midrises, but most of them are glass boxes, which I think are ok, albeit nondescript. beyonddc.com One of the things they have been doing over the past few years is make the glass reflective, which I think is very pretty when they are reflecting sky and clouds. One of my favorite modern buildings is the Enron building in Houston. I had an interview with a firm there, would have been neat to work in it. images.usatoday.com
