It's hard to predict stagflation vs. deflation because it totally depends on Fed policy, which can change at any time. JMHO.

I do not agree with EVERYTHING those three say. While bearish, I do not see the Dow going down to 3000 or anything close -- at least not anytime soon.

The person whose thinking most closely mirrors my own is Alan Newman of Crosscurrents. Very bullish on gold (although does think a correction is overdue). He sees the Dow dropping to 6400 within the next few months. But he looks for a rebound to around current levels by year-end.
