oops, you are right.

well, in my first chart the stos don't really line up identically to today. then look at a one year of the 1999 period in your second chart

the first bounce of the 50 generates a big move. in the second bounce, there is hardly any move until a couple of months later. the graphs of the stos also have different structures.

you may be right, I just don't think it's conclusive
