Ben- Re:- "Samsung Acquires GSM Trade Rights in China"

Could this have been a necessity in order for Samsung to sell a locally manufactured MSM6300 chipset (GSM/GPRS-CDMA2000 1X world phone)) equipped handset in China? Manufacturing such within China should certainly lower the cost and therefore make it more cost competitive with the traditional GSM handsets.
