"No job can be taken for granite". I hear that. My hospital is under the gun from the state for non-compliance with a bunch of stuff, and may, repeat may, get closed down, for at least a bit. (ed comment...I don't understand it; the newest management team has painted the building, repaved the parking lot, re-landscaped the joint, and is changing all the flooring and sheet-rocking and paint the walls " to help us meet the needs of the community". Why, certainly the state is in error. Ja ja. I've been quoting Donald Sutherland in the Dirty Dozen a lot lately. The scene where the 12 convince Robert Ryan that Sutherland is actually a general. what are you hearing from your contacts at DELL Those I know at Dell are getting tired of working longer hours to cover for the reduced personel. Raises and wages are not increasing and there is no end in sight. None of them, however, are seeking to leave (in the technical end). I understand that the phone help desk area has really been hit hard but I don't know anyone who still works there. Customer service, retail, and secretarial skilled jobs have been hit much harder than developmental technical skilled jobs. TP
