"Still, in the end it’s all in the head."

True enough. A game of confidence and the dollars confidence is now being called into question. I believe in order to make this new world economy work properly we also need one world currency. We use to have one when the world was on the gold standard which imparted its own sets of checks and balances on a countries ability to mess with its currency. My guess as to what we will see in the worlds financial future is the creation of a world reserve bank which will oversees central banking operations around the globe and may even issue a one world currency. I'm not looking forward to it but I believe it is the direction we will be heading in.

Well, a look back at important periods of deflation actually shows gold faired very well. 1814 to 1830 gold was up 100%. the great depression about 40%.And largely that ws due to the historical perception of gold as a safe haven i gather.
But really, do you think AG is intent to let us go down the deflationary spiral here?
