You're right, we may offer some sort of compromised compensation, after all, we did sign a treaty. Of course, they will have to pay a price in "verifiable inspections" with penalties.

Having Russia, China and others on our side will help persuade them this path is foolish. That doesn't mean we can't continue to open the can of straight-talking worms and point the bully-pulpit finger at their failed system.

That may encourage integration sooner, rather than later.
