Nothing to support it, just a hunch: short-term there must be some production capacity waiting to kick in, pretty much as we know it in markets in form of resistance and support / accumulation and distribution levels. 350 spot conquered and defended would/could be one of the levels in the scenarios of producers. Fact is though the reaction time is not days or weeks (or months for that matter).

Hi David, I am not concerned about the mines, marginal cost curves, exploration, and all that, because before all those factors kick-in, I will have left the party already, sitting on a mountain top, viewing the scene through a scope, and in awe of the slowly propagating crimson tsunami about to wash over the bulls.

Chugs, Jay

<Not so sure that in the long-run it is really that flat unless there are huge undiscovered but accessible deposits out there, which seems unlikely> Wait until I start popping a proton out of mercury and we'll see how short gold supply is. Rutherford split the atom a century ago and he only had an axe. I've got some superlative spin reversal technology under development which will cause a tizzy when it's up and running.

Aztecs didn't know about that.
