Maybe electorate aren't idiots. They realize they have limited ability to control the actions of their government. Just like the fans of a losing football team, the owners of a company's failing stock, or the principal of a weak school, the only control they have is to call for the head of whomever is in charge.

I agree, it could also happen if the dividend tax cut doesn't tank the market, and the market tanks anyway.

will pass tax free divs to their owners.
