That "Spiral of Violence" is still the popular slogan, isn't it, John? I gather you don't like the fact I use it. Yes, the administration could pressure the Israelis into doing something about Palestine. But we have a proven record that we cannot pressure the Pals into keeping their part of the bargain. Need to balance rewards and risks of a variety of options rather than simply look at that one, Bill. Moreover, the admin needs to think more creatively than binary. It's not one or the other; it's a mix, a strategy, something that looks to open things up, show some interest in moving beyond the present moment.
