The context was how much of people's collective investment has been lost. The actual market cap loss will be less as a percentage because of the constant issuing of new stock, but it is the level of the index that most closely matches people's total losses.

If lizzie thinks that a 95% loss has occurred and she thinks such a level is a reasonable place to stop the bear, then she needs to accept her math was wrong and should be expecting the bottom to be reached when the nas is at 257 !

I think there is a chance of seeing that level but let's get the more visible targets such as 1000 out of the way first !

This study posted by Larry Dudash shows, historically speaking, how mild this bear has been so far, and how its starting point in terms of excessive PE sets a record standing for more than a century.
