Hi Rich,

Some interesting market developments:

Naz closes over its 200 moving average - first time since March 02.

Commercial longs exceed exceed shorts - while the small guy MOMO short guru's are almost twice as short as they are long. Not many contraians at work here huh?

vtoreport.com

Although it doesn't give a time reference IBD said in tomorrow's (Monday) paper that the short interest ratio in the NYSE hit A FIVE YEAR HIGH @ just under 7%.Granted December trade was slow so that might run the number up a little higher than normal.

Looks to me like the follow thru's of last week ,in all three of the indexes, could well drive a little short covering to make this rally go a little further than it might otherwise carry in this anemic recovery.

The fourth year of a bear market, and the positive earnings start in earnest with next week. The last 30 days of confessionals were marked more by positive surprises than negative misses and we have a record percent of small investors going short.

Souns like a setup for a bear fry to me.

I thought the reversal after the horrible employment numbers ( a lagging indicator with real fear inducing impact)said it all - UP ON BAD NEWS - That is not what this three year old Bear Market has been made of.

The worm has turned and I hope to see your epicenter of wave three real soon!!!

Bob
