The problem is not only Chavez and there is a lot to do after Chavez, But the concentration of power was being solved in the Venezuelan system with a real Separation of Powers, and as an example we have how Carlos Andres Perez having a high popularity was impeached and taken out of office by the rule of law, he was guilty of diverting the secret state security funds to political means ( ands it was only 400.000 $ that didn't go to any private pocket, unlike the Billions that are doing so now) The powers were well defined and similar to the USA, each one completely independent from the other , we also reached a very practical decentralization of powers and economy, going down do Governors, Mayors and city councils and in each level we had the Controller to watch. Our main problem was Corruption, but we were heading towards an evolution that was disrupted by Chavez and his gang of Corrupt friends with no shame or level of corruption, now with globalization we have one more asset against Totalitarian Rulers I do believe that Chavez did something good for our society: He made Us unite and organize the Civil Society , the same Silent society that used to Criticize the corruption but was unable or lazy to organize against it. our next Governments will have to behave in a democracy with Separation of Powers and a Civil Society that learned how to Ask and demand its rights in a very peaceful and legal manner. There is a very bright future to Venezuela, happily is one of the richest nations in the world with a western Culture and the willingness to mimitize what's happening up North, if we manage to control or reduce the corruption we have enough richness to build schools with the highest standards, hospitals, roads, give back the budget for our technical public schools and the catholic schools ( taht are being changed for the state run Bolivarian schools with political indoctrination) keep on the campaign for birth control and upgrade our general standard of living. Venezuela was a magnet for immigration from all over the world because of its open society and richness and there wasn't hunger in all its history untill Chavez. Venezuela never needed and will not need economical help or handout from anyone, just help Venezuela to get back its Democracy. In this case the End does justify some mild means.
