Well she got the H1-B fast and efficiently (less than a month in fact). I remember when I applied for a J-1 on my own it took forever too. Stories of other people suggest that you need a lawyer to get it done efficiently and in reasonable time. Maybe they just ignore applications from people without lawyers? She reckons that the Greencard should take me a year. Guy doing it himself with some help from his university foreign student department is up to 20 months and still waiting. But she wants plenty of money to do it.
