Don't put the onus on the teacher. My idea would be to get somebody from each religion to come and talk with the understanding that they were presenting their sacred text as literature. My daughter teaches first and second graders at a charter school run by Russian immigrants and owned by their church. That's way too young for teaching religious text as literature and she doesn't. Getting them to love to read is her job, and she does it well.
